Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding blockade of left ear for last 6 months.

Blockade of ear is indicative of eustachian tube dysfunction (tubal blocade). This tubal blokade may be because of-

1- Sore throat.

2- Sinusitis.

3- Enlarged adenoids.

4- Anterochonal polyp.

5- Stenosis or fibrosis of eustachian tube.

Since your blockade is for last 6 months so only sore throat may not be the real cause and this demonds a thorough examination of nasopharynx to rule out above causes and if any of above is identifyed than that should be treated. If nasopharynx is found clear than stenosis of eustachian tube will be most probable diagnosis and that may be confirmed by Impedance audiometry.

Treatment depends on the diagnosis and that ranges from coservative to surgery (grommet insertion).

Regards.
