Hi I was on the Yasmin contraceptive pill for about 8 years as I have PCSO. I recently changed doctors and was told that I m at high risk of deep vein thrombosis on the Yasmin pill so was told to change to rigevidon pill instead. I have been on it for 3-4months now and I feel like I m gaining weight and starting to become a bit hairy.Yasmin seemed perfect for me as I had no problems, is there a similar pill I can take instead?
hello HCM user. i am glad that i can help you.before you used to take yasmin pills which was perfect for you and then you changed the doctor who gave rigevidon.i want to stress you on the point that both of them contains the ingredients with similar action of estrogen and progesterone. The only difference is that one pill is stronger in estrogen effect and other pill rigvedion is stronger in both estrogen and progesterone effects making you gain weight and become hairy. i would advice to request your doctor to either decrease the dose or change to a lesser alternative as there is no hard and fast rule to substitute easily.the prescribing doctor does based on the patients response and their side effects.
