What Is The Risk Of HIV After Intercourse With Sex Workers?
Towards the end of November, me and my best friend (we are both males) who is also 18 took a taxi ride to town to find prostitutes. After searching we eventually found them and they took us to a small apartment with 2 small beds in it and it was 2 prostitutes by the way (1 for me and the other for my friend). After undressing my pants she put on 2 condoms on my penis and I was aware of the risk of using 2 condoms but I was too horny to think about it, I did not kiss or touch her vagina and even though it was 2 condoms, they were used properly and the sexual intercourse lasted for about 2 or 3 minutes plus I did not ejaculate. A week later I went for a HIV test and the results came back negative but I still have my moments where I worry. Am I at risk of an infection?
Hi, Welcome to HCM. You need not worry about HIV or STD as you had a protected intercourse throughout. Your risk for HIV is almost nil as you didn't have any unprotected coitus either vaginal or anal or oral. HIV test a week after the high risk activity (in your case there is no high risk activity at all) is not a fool-proof one. If it is antigen based test it will be conclusive after 4 weeks and if it is a antibody based test it will be conclusive after 12 weeks following the sexual activity. Dr S.murugan
