General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi. First of all adenoids are not common at the age of 12 years. Please go for an ENT Endoscopy by an ENT Surgeon and may be a CT Scan or MRI to see there is not other serious problem. You can start with an antibiotic , oral decongestant , nasal decongestant drops, steroids if needed as advised by your ENT Specialist. If this is confirmed as adenoid and not getting benefit from medicines , you may have to go for surgery.
