What Is The Remedy For Recurring Cough For Weeks?

This is Rakesh here, from new Delhi India. My mother is suffering from cough from around 15 days. The cough comes in the morning time and sometimes in the evening. What it could be and what's the remedy?
She had deficiency of Vit D and calcium, taking injection for that.

I have gone through your query regarding recurring cough to your mother for last 15 days.
As you said that your mother is having vit D def and she is taking treatment for the same, though it is not concern with cough here possibilities are-
1- Respiratory tract infection.
2- Allergic disorder.
3- Congestive cardiac failure ( If quite old and having cardiac problems).
4- Due to side effect of some drugs ( Ace inhibitors anti-hypertensive drugs).
5- Local lesions of throat as vocal cord nodule and neoplasm.
Beside above there is a long list of non infective pathology of irritable cough and these all are diagnosed basically by clinical examination and necessary investigations.
