What Is The Reason For Frequent Urination With Backache?

I have to urinate frequently, almost every half hour. In the night when I have to go to the bathroom, my lower back hurts. There's a pounding sensation that sometimes gets intense and it eases up a bit once I urinate. I'm only 23, what is this?? Please help?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It seems that you are having lower urinary tract infection and the most probable reason is the infection of prostate(prostatitis) and the second possibility is infection of bladder and urethra(cystourethritis). So you need to worry much as it does not appear to be a serious problem . What I would like to suggest you is:
1. Get a routine urine test done
2. USG urogenital tract
3. Plenty of fluids

Meanwhile you can take antibiotics/ antispasmodics in consultation with your primary care physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As there is frequent urination with backache , there can be urinary infection with or without calculus in the urinary system. I recommend to undertake a urine microscopy, X-ray of KUB and consult with report.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
