What Is The Prognosis For Metastatic Colon Cancer?
My mother is 87 and on hospice. She is in a nursing home. Mostly semi conscious, not making any sense, incontinent, being fed and eating and drinking a little. Ashe has been this way for 3 or 4 weeks. She has heart disease a d metastatic colon cancer. I guess I'm wondering how long this is likely to go on. It is difficult to watch.

Sorry to hear about your mother,
She seems to have stage IV colon cancer with a poor perfomance status.
Th normal survival for stage IV cancer is 35- 39 percent at one year. It is likely to be lower in your mothers cas because of her age and poor performance status. It can carry on for days to months
