What Is The Prognosis For A Pancreatic Cancer Patient?
On Jan 9 I had a whippet procedure done at Hopkins to remove cancer at the head of the pancreas, they got all the cancer. Jan 30 I developed what looks like a mile shingles and got the meds Wed. How long woulda projection be for and end, esp. with my immunize system being down Thank you

Only about twenty percent of pancreatic cancer patients are eligible for the Whipple procedure and other surgeries. These are usually patients whose tumors are confined to the head of the pancreas and haven't spread into any nearby major blood vessels, liver, lung or abdominal cavity.
Overall, the five-year survival rate after a Whipple procedure is about twenty to twenty-five. Even if the procedure successfully removes the visible tumor, it's possible that some cancer cells have already spread elsewhere in the body, where they can form new tumors and eventually cause death. Please consult your treating doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
