Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hii, I am PCOD patient and suffering from this disease last three years and i had consulted gynae specialist ,she has advised to go through follicular study but my left ovaries on 16th day ET= 5 .8 mm.Please tell me what is the size require to mature the follicles.
1. 18-22 mm is considered a good mature follicle BUT in PCOS the outer surface of ovary has abnormally large number of small follicles which are small and immature and does not exceed 10 mm in size which explains the anovulation among women and thus is considered less fertile.
2. check with your blood sugar/hormonal profile and thyroid level which are accompaniments of PCOD and reduce your weight which can be an aggravating factor.
