What Is The Cure For Red, Dry Spots On Arm Which Turns Into Pink Color When Exposed To Sun?

I have red dry spots on my arm that don't itch but get pink if exposed to the sun. After a while the red goes away and leaves a white spot which never seems to go away. I am currently using Triamcinolone which my dermatologist recommend and it's not doing much of anything. Any ideas what I can try next?

Hello and welcome to HCM,

It seems like you have polymorphous light eruptions or photosensitive dermatitis on your arms with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Apply sunscreen to predisposed area while going out in the sun, or better cover it. Keep applying triamcinolone , results will take some time to sho, or talk to your dermatologist for prescribing a higher strength steroid.

Once the lesion resolves, you can address the white spot by talking to your physician about topical melanin stimulating agents like melgain.

Hope I helped
