What Is The Cause Of Painful Forearm, Numbness And Burning Sensation In Hands?

My forearm hurts (elbow to wrist).
Throughout the day i get pin prickling feeling, burning sensations and numbness all the way down to my hand. My thumb goes completley numb and twitches, to the point i cannot hold anything with weight. If i am holding something which is heavy, i have to let go immediately.
Sometimes my arm also feels cold instead of a burning sensation.
The pain has been here for the past week now.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The symptoms that you have are likely to be due to a nerve root compression at the level of cervical spine or a thoracic outlet syndrome. An MRI scan will help in diagnosis.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
