What Is The Cause And Treatment For Bruises?

I have had two bruises this year. Both on my leg, one on the lower leg, on the inner side, the other on my thigh. both were caused by an explained occurence. nothing major. the first bruise took forever to go away and i can still tell where it was. the other is still here, and it has been months! should i be worried?

Hi,

Usually, small bruises weans off in 3-4 weeks,but in case of large bruises time period is not well specified as they leads to residual staining of the skin even after the extravasated blood is removed. They may take several months to years to fade away. There is nothing to worry about as far as staining is concerned, but if the cause for bruising is trivial you need to get a coagulation profile done to rule out bleeding disorders.
