What Is The Average Lifespan After CPR?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...My Father-in-law survived a heart attack 4 years ago and was saved by CPR. He then had a pacemaker put in and has gone off three times over the years but generally is in good health. What is the average lifespan after CPR? Thanks

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I have gone through you question carefully. Survival after CPR depends on

the underlying heart disease and the severity of heart dysfunction and

comorbities ( Diabetes, Hypertension etc.), level of physical activity

status . if frequent CPR s are being required survival is usually poor.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. D Sunil Reddy
