What Is A Pus Filled Bump Between The Armpit And Shoulder Suggestive Of?

I have a small bump on the area between my armpit and shoulder. It is painful and seems to have a dot of discoloration in the center. Whenever I squeeze the bump, it seems to invert itself. My mother got a squirt of pus out, but it seems to have more inside, but it won t come out.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It could be an abscess. Should apply warm compresses locally to mature and clear the pus.

The black ointment will help clear the pus out. Plus can apply an antibiotic ointment (bacitracin or fusidic acid) locally.

Do not squeeze as this will make the things worse.

If still no improvement in a couple of days should see your caring doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
