My friend has a sharp pain in the stomach right above his belly button. No diarrhea or vomiting but he does have a fever. He has eaten nothing unusual today. He has Raisin Bran and a piece of rye toast each morning. He started having pain about 2 hours after he finished breakfast. he has had 2 polyps removed from his stomach, has been diagnosed with Barretts Esophagus, and has lost 20 pounds in the past year. He has had ultrasounds and MRI which showed a mass on his liver and his doctor said they would look at it again in 1 year. Should I be taking him to the ER ?
