What Does'the Section Shows Aneurysmal Bone Cyst'in The Hitopathology Report Mean?
Hi,
I am Suhaid MK ( IT ProffessionaI). I had bone cyst on on my left foot ankle joint (calcaneum),it showing the symptoms in 2005 having severe pain while walking and all. For that i had surgery in 2006 doctor removed all dead cell and cleaned the cavity and put a screw on the bone. after an year its started paining again and doctor gave some injection to my calcaniuem bone without removing the screw, after an year pain started again in 2009 i had bone grafting surgery, They removed my screw and the bone harvested from left anterior crest and packed into cavity.and the hitopathology repotrs says: The section shows aneurysmal bone Cyst.there is no features to suggest giant cell tumor or other lesion.
Hello suhaid, the histopathology report is in your favour as it suggest a aneurysmal bone cyst that means the disease in your bone has very little chance of spreading in other bones or recurring again in calcaneum. I would say that removal of bone cyst and bone graft should have been the first treatment but any way now you are completely cured. I hope now you will not feel any pain in your heel.
