What Does Vomiting And Sweating With Rashes Over The Body Indicate?

hi, my father is 69 and generally in very good health, 3 days ago he started vomiting then sweating, and then shivering, his joints are all sore and achy then today a rash has appeared over his face and spread to his chest and arms, he wont see a Dr but i am very worried as 8 weeks ago i had viral meningitis and my daughter has just got over chicken pox ??

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I noted the history about your father having vomiting and then sweating, shivering, sore joints, achy followed by rash over face, chest and arms, had viral meningitis 8 weeks ago and you daughter has got over chicken pox.

All the symptoms your father has developed looks to be due to toxemia due to intestinal infection. I would advise him the following:

- Rush to ER in view of recent recovery from viral meningitis, there is no question whether he does or does not want to go to the Doctor as toxemia needs urgent investigations of blood, stool and urine.

- Ultrasonography, X-ray of the abdomen and so on to find the cause and the effects of this.

- Antibiotic cover as per the picture seen and investigated.
