Hello,
Firstly, you did not need to take the emergency pill as you were in the safe period during the time of intercourse. Ovulatory or fertile phase of the menstrual cycle is two weeks prior to the onset of the next period. An unprotected intercourse during this phase can cause conception. The week after and the week before menstruation is safe in a 28-day cycle. Emergency pill contains high doses of hormone and hence causes withdrawal bleeding, which you had. Your next natural period may get delayed by a week or two. Hope this helps.
