What Does This X-ray Report Of Chest Mean?

a chest xray came back with low level of inspiration with bronchovascular crowding throughout and artificial widening of the heart. Actual enlargement of the heart cannot be excluded. there is no evidence of lobar or segmental consolidation. I have also recently been diagnosed with DMII, Hypokinesesis left ventrical, CAD, Pulmonary HTN, HTN, HLP, Blockage 60% left descending artery above three branches, Hypothyroid, fatty liver, not sure if enlarged, SVT, and macular degeneration. Being a nurse I understand that the hypokinesis can lead to left sided heart failure, CHF and COPD. So can same be said of Pulmonary HTN. Please let me know how close I am to CHF.

Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
By what you explain the low level of inspiration very likely means that you did not have deep breath in while xray was taken. There should be 9 ribs visible in xray so it is called good quality so having low inspiration is not a diagnosis or medical issue but technical issue that might effect the quality of the xray.
No consolidation means no pneumonia.
The chest xray should be taken from back to front so if it is taken from front to back it might cause the false impression of a large heart while this is not the case- very likely this is the explanation of artificial widening of the heart.
The best test to see the heart size and function (if you are worried of CHF) is a heart ultrasound. i would recommend you to have a heart ultrasound and have a better evaluation of heart size and function, this would give a better understanding if you are going into CHF or not.
Hope this answers to your question and is helpful to you.
