Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr. my sister was diagnoised and undergone treatment for typhoid andshe hasnt got any temperature or shivering since the treatment , sometimes she got temperature only in her palms . but after 21 days i,e. yesterday wen she was tested (widal test (semi quantative slide method)) again the result is same. Current results S. typhi O 1 in 320 Dilution S. typhi H 1 in 320 Dilution S. paratyphi AH 1 in 40 Dilution S. paratyphi BH 1 in 40 Dilution can you suggest us whats the situation and what needs to be done.
Based on the history you have shared, your sister if not having temperature or fever detected on thermometer then she is free of any illness.
Widal test is obsolete but still, if you want to check for typhoid then get your sister’s blood cultures done and check the growth of typhoid organism on it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
