Hi,

Fibroids are the most common mass in the uterus. These are usually benign and the chances of their transformation into malignant are very very rare. Usually these do not need any treatment. Definitely, the symptoms of pain in lower umbilical region may be due to fibroid.

However, you are advised to see your doctor if:
- Have pelvic pain that does not go away.
- Overly heavy, prolonged or painful periods.
- Spotting or bleeding between periods.
- Difficulty in emptying your bladder
- Unexplained anemia.

Also, you should see your doctor promptly, if there is sudden very heavy bleeding or sharp pelvic pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
