Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a 5cm bladder stone removed by laser in Feb 2014 and some residual small bladder stones in April 2014. That time My doctor in formed me I have benign prostrate enlargement. I was put on Doxasozine 2 and Finesteride and now I had UTI and treated by antibiotics by drip and orally Now an ultrsound shows prostrate measured 45 cc volume andsignificant post void bladder residual of 320 cc with pre void 460 cc and Mild Prostatomegaly.
Your ultrasound reports says that there is benign enlargement of prostate causing too much post-void means after passing urine residue. Since you have already undergone the removal of a small stone from urinary bladder it remains to see for the opinion of your urologist whether to continue with medicines like Doxasozine and Finesteride or you need surgery for enlarged prostate. Follow the advise of your urologist. Since the question is short and specific the answer is relevantly small.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
