What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?

My ultrasound report shows multiple calcified fibroids, largest being 8×6 cm. The other larger fibroids are 5.3×4.5, 6.2×5.9, & 3.1×3.1 cm. Endometrial thickness is 6 mm. Adnexal region including ovaries are sonographically normal. Urinary bladder shows normal anechoic pattern. No calculus,SOL, or diverticulum seen. What do you infer from this report?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic.
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

As per your ultrasound report, you are having multiple fibroids in uterus. Fibroids are benign(non cancerous) tumors seen among middle aged females. You don't need to worry regarding this because they are non cancerous and highly effective treatment is available.
The size of your fiboids are moderate, some of them are calcified (calcium deposition over the fibroid).
The endometrial thickness (wall thickness of your uterus) is normal so chances of uterine cancer is very less.
All other findings are perfectly normal, your ovaries and urinary bladder loos normal and no features suggest any ovarian cyst or tumors.

I suggest you to consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated for fibroids, since you are having multiple fibroids surgical intervention may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
Dr.Shinas Hussain
