Hi & Welcome.
Incomplete data like purpose of doing ultrasound, any associated symptoms like fever, lower abdominal pain, irregular menses, infertility, etc???
The pouch of Douglas (POD) is a localized area of the
peritoneal cavity located between the back wall of the uterus and the rectum. It normally contains 1 to 3 milliliters of fluid throughout the menstrual cycle which increases to about 4 to 5 milliliters during ovulation.
Minimal free fluid (up to 5 ml) in POD in absence of associated symptoms can occur under normal conditions when a woman is ovulating.
It can also be due to
ruptured ovarian cyst,
pelvic inflammatory disease,
pelvic infection, an early pregnancy or any inflammation in the peritoneum involving colon or
small intestine.
If you don't have any of the above mentioned symptoms, then there is no need to worry about any risk of getting pregnant.
However, I suggest you to consult a gynecologist and get examined for confirmation of diagnosis.
Hope I could answer your query.
Kindly rate the answers if you are convinced.
