What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Hi I had a US pelvis with transvaginal and they found a complex left ovarian cyst (cyst measuring up to 4.1 cm in greatest dimension compared with prior ultrasound dated 9/16/2015. Although the cyst is stable in size, the imaging findings remain most suggestive of a likely involuting hemorrhagic cyst. Is this something I should be worried about? I do have left abdominal pain and painful intercourse

1. Hemorrhagic/ruptured ovarian cyst is the most common cause of pelvic pain, irregular periods and pain during intercourse and comprises of fluid in a thin walled pouch/sac and 95% are benign & harmless

2. Most hemorrhagic cyst resolve completely within two menstrual cycles and should be evaluated with short interval follow up of Ultrasound & MRI imaging.

3. Usually the doctor prescribe birth control pills to control hemorrhagic cyst, if pain persist surgery is indicated
