What Does This Blood Test Report Signify?
Hi, this is my blood test report. Plz help to analyse and provide me input. RBC’s are predominantly normocytic normochromic (Hb-9.7 gm%) Cells of WBC series are in given (TLC – 71,200/cu. Mm. DLC-Poly16 %Lymph 83 %Eosin OO% Momo 01%) Many smudge cells seen and few atypical lymphocytes also seen. Platelets are adequate (2.96 Lakhs/cu.mm). No immature cells or haemoparasite seen. Thanks

You provided incomplete data like history, the purpose of doing complete blood count (CBC), etcetera. Based on the report, you seem to have an absolute lymphocytosis which is suspicious of chronic lymphoid leukemia until proved otherwise.
The normal range of TLC is 4000 - 11000 cells/ cubic millimeter of blood. An increase in the number of WBCs is known as leucocytosis. The normal range of Lymphocytes (B and T cells): 20 - 40%. So, there is a lymphocytosis. Causes of absolute lymphocytosis include:
1. Acute viral infections, such as infectious mononucleosis, hepatitis, and cytomegalovirus infection
2. Bacterial infections such as pertussis, tuberculosis, brucellosis.
3. Protozoal infections, such as toxoplasmosis and trypanosomiasis.
4. Blood cancers such as leukemia or lymphoma.
Since your blood picture also shows many smudge cells, these cells are most often associated with lymphoproliferative disorders, especially chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). So in view of the above, I advise you to consult your doctor for further evaluation and to carry out certain lab tests to arrive in a diagnosis.
