Welcome to health care magic.

1.There is a disc between the vertebral bodies helps as a shock absorber effect, the disc contains maximum percentage of water, due to degenerative changes when the water content / hydration is lost the disc slips / bulges and also causes endplate changes.
2.L5-S1 level there is reduced disc height is seen when disc desiccation /loss of hydration is seen.
3.Modic changes seen on MRI when the disc gets herniated in to the vertebral body as an indentation.
4.There is an pressure effect on the nerve at the level of S1.
5.And inflammatory changes noted at the joints of the lower vertebrae.
6.Treatment in this will be a good back exercises followed by physiotherapy.
7.Only in final when treatment does not workout - interventional / operative is treatment of choice. Good luck.

Hope i have answered your query.
