What Does This Abdominal Ultrasound Test Result Indicate?
Doctor, greetings. My wife has just undergone ultrasound examination of the whole abdomen as she is slated to undergo surgery to remove her uterus. The report mentions following as the impression.. Large Hypoechoic uterine mass predominantly in the fundus posteriorly appears to be adenomyosis rather than fibroid..Can you please make me understand what it is and whether it is anything serious. Awaiting your immediate response. Warm regards, Ravindran.
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Your ultrasound abdomen results suggest adenomyosis. In which there is smooth musclehyperplasia in myometrium with endometrial glands and stroma. The reports suggest you have high chance of adenomyosis than utrine fibroid. It causes increase menstrual bleeding.
You should consult gynecologist and take treatment accordingly. Permenent treatment of choice is hysterectomy if family is completed. However many factors are there to decide the treatment plan. It is not serious so don't worry about that. Just be relaxed.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
