General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.

Based on the report of the chest x ray you seem to be suffering from tuberculosis of the lung.

It is a chronic infectious disease caused by the bacteria mycobacterium tuberculosis that most often affect the lungs.

It is a contagious disease which spreads from person to person through the air droplets. When a person with lung TB coughs, sneezes or spits, it propels the TB germs into the air. A person needs to inhale only a few of these germs to become infected.

You need to consult your treating physician for further evaluation and certain lab tests such as CBC, ESR, Sputum for AFB or PCR to confirm the diagnosis.

Tuberculosis is curable if you take the prescribed antibiotics for at least 6 to months and you would be able to work once you are cured.

Hope these answer your queries.

Wishing you best of your health.
