Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had been suffering pain on my right shoulder for quite some time. So I had an xray on my right shoulder on February 28, 2015. RIGHT SHOULDER APL: Ovoid calcific densities are seen at the insertion of the supraspinatus tendon, the largest measures 0.6 x 0.2 cms. Shoulder joint is normal in width. Rest of the included osseous are unremarkable. IMPRESSION : : CONSIDER CALCIFYING TENDINITIS Could you please explain more to me the findings. Should I go to a physical theraphist? Can a theraphy help ease my problem?
The findings suggest that there are calcification of the tendon. which can be post traumatic - most common cause. Followed by infection / inflammatory reaction. Physiotherapy will help to ease from the symptoms - it wont heal the calcification.
Hope it help you. Good luck.
