What Does This MRI Test Result For Back Pain Indicate?

My daughter is 19 yrs old and was in an accident 1 year ago. She still has back pain and a recent MRI shows L4-5 disc bulging with central disc herniation indenting the thecal sac, and also has a left facet effusion. How can we fix this and what type of doctor should we see next?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello.
Thank you for contacting HCM.

If I were your daughter's treating physician I would like to go for further scanning using xray and CT scan modalities to rule out verterbral fractures.

I would recommend you consult an orthopedic specialist for further imaging and treatment accordingly.

I hope this answers your query. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns.
Wishing you good health.
