I have had some results from an MRI scan and am struggling to fully understand the medical jargon in the letter. It states "Imgaes show MR signal pattern along the left anterolateral aspect of the pons, similar to CSF intensity, maybe gliotic focus. Too small to exert appreciable mass-effect on adjacent structures. This may be related to the primary epileptiform activity" - please could you explain this to me in very basic terms? Thanks.
The reports says that there is an area in the front and left side of the pons (brain stem) which is showing features of degeneration. It is seen as a fluid area. Further mention is made that it can be responsible for the seizures which you might be suffering from. Primary epileptiform activity is the point of origin of the seizures. You must consult a neurologist and take anti epileptic medications regularly.
