Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.
Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Saddiq-ul-Abidin. I have read your question completely, I understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

I believe according to the MRI report this would have been done for leg pains or numbness of some area , I understand the concern you must be having regarding the report . I will divide the report into parts and will explain these parts one by one to you and their possible treatment option in my opinion.

Decrease in intervertebral disc height with a broad-based disc bulge: Inter vertebral disc are jelly like cushions between out vertebra and they protect them from damage in case of pressure which can collapse spine.disc height is decreased when there is a pressure incident on the spine which disc can not bear, it bulges to one side and its height thus gets decreased. This bulge can touch the nerves leaving the spine resulting in extreme pain.

There is superimposed central inter vertebral disc protrusion noted: this is the same protrusion i just mentioned...this is usually treated surgically if symptoms are debilitating.

There is mild facet joint degenerative changes noted: These are due to low calcium and vitamin D , or old age, in females it is common after menopause.

There is mild narrowing of the bilateral neuroforamina: these foramina are canals or holes through which spinal nerves come out of spine to supply body ...it can get narrow after inflammation or degenerative process.

After this report i would suggest you to consult a neurospinal surgeon so that further treatment options can be discussed.

I hope this answered your question. If you have more queries I am happy to answer.Otherwise rate and close the discussion
