What Does This MRI Report Indicate?

Had MRI: L1-2 Facet ligament flavum hypertrophy. No significant canal stenosis. L2-3-4 Facet facet ligament flavum hypertrophy. Mild diffuse posterior extension of ostephhyte and disc. L 4-5 Severe facet ligamentum flavum hrpertrophy. Mild diffuse posterior extension of osteophytes and disc. No significant canal stenosis or advanced neural foraminal narrowing. L 5-S1 Small central disc protrusion.facet ligamentum flavum hrpertrophy.No significant canal stenosis. Having lot of pain and lot of falls due you think I need surgery?

Thank you for using Healthcare Magic in such a situation.
Your MRI report is suggestive of chronic degenerative changes of the lumbar spine (multi-level disc bulging, oteophytes and ligament flavum hypertrophy). A mild posterior disc protrusion is evident at L5 -S1 level, but of little clinical significance and not indicating surgery. Be careful to avoid weight lifting or sudden body movements. In case of severe pain you should take a rest together with any NSAID such as Ibuprofen 3×/day associated with a muscle relaxant such as Muscoflex 3×/day, for 3 days. Physiotherapy will be helpfull as well.
