What Does The Neck Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Real time grey scale ultrasound of Neck was performed. Thyroid gland is enlarged and extremely heterogenous in texture. Multiple nodules are noted scattered throughout the glandÍž 2 can be clearly identified in right lobe ( Large complex nodule noted in left lobe inferior part about 38 x 20 mm. It contains cystic and solid part and is hypovascular. Right lobe measures 5.7 x 2.9 x 2.8 cm. Left lobe measures 5.1 x 2.6 x 2.5 cm. No evidence of calcifications. Visualized neck vessels appear normal. No enlarged lymphnodes noted. Visualised muscles & soft tissues are normal. Bilateral submandibular glands are normal in size and echotexture. Genetic factors associated with functional abnormalities have been implicated I multinodular goitre implicated with greater incidence in women.
Medications , iodine deficiency and smoking also contribute to multinodular goitre
