Thank you for asking on HealthcareMagic.com, providing better healthcare for you. This is a condition is called thrombocytopenia (low platelets on blood). Normally platelets ranges from 150,000 to 450,000 per microliter of circulating blood. Thrombocytopenia can be inherited or it may be caused by a number of medications or conditions. Whatever the cause, circulating platelets are reduced by one or more of the following processes: trapping of platelets in the spleen, decreased platelet production or increased destruction of platelets. Over-the-counter pain medications, such as aspirin and ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others) can impair platelet function. Please consult with a hematologist to find the cause and to get the treatment. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions. Wishing you good health.
