What does this mean? Identified within the anterior medial segment of the right hepatic lobe towards liver dome is a 7.6 cm TV X 5.9 cm AP X 5.9 cm CC dimension solid mass possessing a heterogeneous mixed internal signal on T1 and T2-weighted imaging. Postcontrast imaging reveals heterogeneous cental and peripheral enhancement which persists throughout the exam.
Thanks for your question on HCM. The MRI finding in your report suggest liver mass. Normally liver is not having any mass. It is homogeneous in nature. But your report suggest well circumscribed mass lesion with heterogeneous central part and borders are enhancing. This means no blood supply in central part only the peripheral border is enhancing. This is seen in 1. Liver abscess 2. Hepatic cell carcinoma (HCC). Better to get done biopsy from this mass to get the diagnosis.
