What Does The Following X-ray Report Suggest?

Hi Doctor. I just want to ask the meaning of the result of my X-ray. It says 1) Possible significant loculated or organizing pleural fluid collection noted in the right lower hemithorax with some passive mid-basal lung atelectasis, r/o concurrent lobar consolidation. r/o parapneumonic etiology; 2) Rest of the lungs are clear; 3) Heart, left costophrenic sulcus and other osseous structures are intact; 4) Left diaphragm and great vessels are unusual. I experienced pain in the right side of my abdomen last three weeks for 10 days every time I wake up and lay down to sleep. On the 11th day, the pain stopped but it was replaced by right chest pain that I couldn t breathe easily.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

According to the X-ray report, there is little fluid accumulated in your lung, besides some damage to the lung.

His looks to be caused by infection (pneumonia). This can also explain the pain you have.

See your doctor for management ahead, it's not something very serious, and most would be fine in a few days but need careful follow up with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
