What Does The Below Mentioned Test Report Mean?

What does this diagnosis mean: Mild to moderate degenerative changes with osteophyte formation from C3-C5. Possible neural foraminal narrowing no significant at C4-C5 although cross-sectional imaging could be performed for confirmation. The odontoid process is not visualized. Spinous processes are intact. Impression: Mild to moderate degenerative changes with osteophyte formation and likely neural foraminal narrowing most significant at C4-C5.

I am assuming from the report that these are findings on x-ray of the neck.
With age and due to daily habits of a person the spine may undergo degenerative changes especially the lower part of neck and lower back. On x- ray the vertebral discs are not seen however, the gap between two vertebrae can give a clue of underlying disc disease. As this report suggests degenerative changes and possible vertebral disc abnormality it is recommended to have MRI done of the neck for better evaluation of the discs and possible compression of spinal cord due to herniated disc.
