What Does Swelling In The Legs While On Pantoprazole Indicate?

My name is Barbara. Recently I was diagnosed with Atrial fibrillation, was given a liquid to prevent stroke, with no problems. Friday I was given a prescription for pantoprazole and began taking that. Today my feet and legs are swollen and look like sausages. I m 78 years young. Other medications consist of Hyzaar, 50mg., verapamil 240 mg, gemfibrozil 600 mg. Spell check won t let me spell eliquis and take liquid out.

Hi
Thanks for trusting healthcaremagic for your health problem.

Pantoprazole does not causes fluid retention or swelling of legs.

Possibly failure of heart because of fibrillation is responsible for peripheral swelling because of back pressure.

please consult cardiologist for proper evaluation

investigations like echocardiography, ECG, serum electrolytes, renal function tests are required.

Despite being on Hyzar 50 mg leg edema is not resolving is matter of concern.

Regards
