What Does Sperm Count In The Semen Report Suggest?

Hello doctor,
my semen test report is below
volume=3ml
colour= whitish
ph=alkaline
liquefaction time=25minutes
total count=36million/cc
rapid progressive=50%
sluggish progessive=05%
non-progressive=45%
pus cells=8-10/HPF
RBC'S=NIL
EPITHELIAL=0-1HPF
Abnormal forms 01%

Hello

Your report suggests semen infection with sperm motility towards lower limit.
Motility should be at least 55%.Your findings indicate 55 % motility,so it is towards lower limit.
Semen infection may be due to UTI or prostatitis.

Infection is indicated by presence of excessive pus cells in semen.

You need proper clinical examination and further investigations.
You need routine hemogram,RBS,culture and sensitivity of semen.
Proper antibiotics depend upon culture and sensitivity report.

36 millions/ml sperm count is normal.Normally sperm count should be at least 20 millions/ml.

Other findings like liquefaction time is normal.

Motility should improve with control of infection.If infertility persists then you may need assisted fertilization techniques like IUI.
