Hello,

Contusion fracture is a minor fracture as it takes from days to weeks for healing. Since it's a lower limb fracture this takes around 6-8 weeks of time depending upon the healing process.

In upper limbs, it's around 4-6 weeks. Let her be on crutches and you may be advised to take one more x-ray on 6th week to see the healing process.

If it's healing or healed then the crutches will be removed and may be asked for doing simple exercises at home.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
