What Does Severe Pain In The Buttocks And Tailbone Indicate?

I had a talk stone and my gall bladder removed last spring. Don t know if it s related but recently, very sudden, I ve had severe pressure causing severe pain and the feeling like I can t poop on the bottom of my left buttocks and tailbone. It is difficult to sit and standing too long ends in much pain. In Oct this year while moving I also had something fall on me in storage unit and I am also experiencing arm trauma as I can t hold arm straight out in front of me, nor pass an item to anyone. I don t know if this can all be related or not and where to start. Can a person still have gall stones amidst even though u have no gall bladder (residuals)? I feel like I don t want to eat and I m full

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your clinical history is concerned, please follow like this-

1) Do a clinical examination by your doctor [Ortho] and to know the exact cause do an MRI scan.

2) Discuss with your doctor [OTC painkiller like ibuprofen, stool softener, physiotherapy and if it is severed, then talk about corticosteroid injection].

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this -

1) Try to reduce your body weight.

2) Sit in a correct position and to know if you can keep one book on the head and use a soft pillow while sitting.

3) Do [kneeling groin stretch] exercise regularly after sitting for a long time.

Tailbone pain has no relation to your gallbladder and abdomen, so to know about it, do a clinical examination by your doctor [Gastro] and do few investigations like [Endoscopy, ultrasound whole abdomen, and stool exam] Do take treatment as per clinical findings only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
