What Does Redness Under My Foreskin Indicate?

Hi, for a month now I have had a redness under my foreskin. I am only partially circumcised. While either wearing tight jeans or working in the yard, foreskin may pull back, irritating the penis . I have been applying Lamisil cream and also tried a bit of Desenex powder. In the past cream has resolved issue in a few days or so. This time nothing seems to help. DO YOU HAVE SUGGESTION?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, local fungal infections is less likely if lamisil isn't helping. It's better to get the STD screening test, to rule out any bacterial infection.

In that case, oral antibiotics like ciprofloxacin or Doxycycline may be needed. If the lesion persists, may need a dermatologist or a urologist review.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
