What Does "subcentimeter Periaortic Lymph Nodes" On Cat Scan Suggest?

I can understand your concern.
No need to worry for periaortic subcentimeter size lymphnode.
Lymphnode is enlarged in infection.
And it is considered pathogenic if the size is more than 1-2 cm.
Smaller than this is considered as normal.
So no need to worry for subcentimeter lymphnodes.
If you have coughing or chest congestion, than this can be the cause for your CT findings. So take broad spectrum antibiotic,you will mostly improve in symptoms.
