Hi,
Urinalysis helps to identify pathology in the urinary tract and upto some of genetic disease in the body. Your baby has normal colored urine which usually straw coloured to light yellow coloured.
Dehydration can cause high coloured urine depends on the level of dehydration. Turbidity shows that there is increase concentration of the urine as mentioned in the specific gravity which is higher than normal range of 1.005 to 1.025. Dehydration is the probable condition commonly causing turbid urine.
Negative bilirubin rules out any liver pathology or any other infection destroying the red blood cells. Ketones are commonly seen in decreased
carbohydrate intake which increases the fat metabolism. Glucose is normally fully reabsorbed from the urine by the kidneys. Presence of glucose in the urine indicates diabetes, or kidney injury. Protein, nitrites, leucocytes and blood, if present are abnormal signs. Infection with nitrate reducing bacteria produce nitrites in the urine. pH of the urine is acidic which is within normal range.
Urobilinogen is excreted in the urine from the conjugated urobilinogen which is formed in the intestines get reabsorbed through portal circulation and excreted in the urine.
Ascorbic acid is within normal limit.
Epithelial cells can be seen normally in urine. RBC and casts are not seen all the time in urine. Crystal amorphous urate in urine is not that significant. Bacteria in the urine denotes infection.
Based on the report, your child is suffering from dehydration with mild
urinary tract infection. Discuss with the Paediatrician for further management. Oral liquids is the best treatment for dehydration and mild bacterial infection. Increased urine output clears the bacterial load in the urinary tract.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
