Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. My wife is six weeks in. 4 days back she noticed bleeding heavier than spotting. We rushed to her doc she asked for ultrasound and hcg and gave her IVFC. Now the ultrasound showed healthy sack and yolk but they couldn t spot feutes. Her HCG was 27000. Doc asked us to have a followup ultrasound next week (coming Thursday). Next day the bleeding stopped. Now since last night she is again noticing bleeding. Sometimes heavier and sometimes lesser. Being a Sunday I couldn t think of anything else, so I took her for HCG test again. In three days her HCG has gone from 27000 to 67000. We are confused. She has normal pregnancy symptoms, no cramping or even pain of any sort. Her next appointment is on Thursday but we are freaking out.
* At 6 weeks pregnancy if the fetus is not visible, it is a bit of concern though HCG is raising, the developmental anomaly must be considered ahead in any case seriously.
To remain in regular follow up with your OBGY and do not panic as that may lead to more of harm to mother as well as fetus ( if viability is issue ).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
