General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

in my view, pain in small joints of her lower limb is likely due to generalized weakness post typhoid and anaemia.

In addition, the use of antibiotics from cephalosporin class can cause joint pain, which usually resolves without any particular treatment in a few days of stopping the antibiotic.

Typhoid causes inflammation in the intestine, so it children tend to lose their appetite.

Moreover, it is best to avoid oily, spicy or heavy food for a typhoid patient in the recovery phase, because chances of the inflamed intestine to perforate are high.

To deal with fever, Paracetamol or Ibuprofen should be given every 8th hourly, along with tepid water sponging when fever is high.

In addition, once the fever is treated, the iron supplement must be started to increase the haemoglobin levels to normal range.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
