What Does Lower Abdomen Scan Mean?

hi, a friend who has been having severe pain in the lower abdomen just had a scan and it sayes there is expanded myometrium by solid mass tissues,submucus within the body of the uterus and free fluid in the POD of about 2.1cm depth, what is this suppose to mean, and how do I get help her out

Hello and the welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of abdominal scan is as follows:
The myometrium of the uterus shows a mass lesion which is expanding the myometrium.
Myometrium is the muscle layer of the uterus.
This layer is present beneath the endometrium.
This mass lesion is probably a fibroid.
Fibroid is a benign lesion of the myometrium.
It remains asymptomatic in majority of cases but can produce menstrual irregularities in symptomatic cases.
Fluid in pouch of Douglas (POD) is an indirect indication of ovulation.
Fluid is POD can also be due to pelvic inflammatory disorders.
These findings have to be correlated with clinical features.
