What Does Fullness In Ear After Clean Up Indicate?
Hi, I m male, 47 years old. I had my ears cleaned by an ENT 2 days ago and now have a fullness in my left ear with a little ringing as well. I actually was visiting for my right ear that had extra wax building up that the ENT removed but nothing was wrong with my left ear at all. The tool he used did hurt a little when he was using it in my ear canal on both ears. Now there is something subtly wrong with my left ear. I plan to visit again tomorrow. What do you think they will prescribe?
Fullness of the ear may be due to fluid collection in the external auditory canal which is often painful. Even during common cold the eustachian tube which connects the middle ear to the nose for fluid drainage may get blocked. This results in pressure difference in both ear which leads to fullness in the affected ear which may be associated with ringing sound called tinnitus. Your ear may be cleaned again in your visit and also you may be prescribed antibiotics and analgesics.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pradeepraj, General & Family Physician
